From showcasing local authors like Gigi Fontenot and her "Adventures of Bootsy: A Cajun Pitbull" series, to preserving our cultural heritage with events like our Traditional Art of Cajun Mask-making workshop led by the amazing Mrs. Gerry Soileau, we've always strived to be more than just a bookstore. We're a community hub, a place where stories come alive, and where the spirit of Opelousas shines bright.
We are so honored and deeply grateful for this recognition and for the amazing community that supports us every day. Thank you for believing in our little shop!

About Black Pot Bookshop:
Black Pot Bookshop is an independent bookstore in Opelousas, LA, founded by a single mom with a passion for celebrating Louisiana culture, especially Acadian and Creole heritage, supporting local talent, and preserving our Creole and Cajun French language. We specialize in books by local authors, regional history, unique art, and fostering a welcoming space for community engagement and revitalization. We occupy a 100-year-old historic building in downtown that is listed on the historic register as the last stop of Bonnie and Clyde, where they received their last haircut and shave.

I just saw the blog-thank you so much for the kind mention in your blog! I truly appreciate the support — it means a lot to me and Bootsy! πΎπ
